Obituary of Frances Armilla Chastain

Frances Armilla Chastain, of Gallatin, passed away Monday, September 18, 2017.  Graveside Service will be Saturday, September 23rd at 11:00 a.m. at Crestview Memory Gardens, with Bro. Perry McArthur officiating. 

Mrs. Chastain was born November 10, 1933, to the late Acy Felix Meador and Dona Graves Meador of Adolphus, KY.  In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by husband, George “Allen” Chastain, whom she married on October 30th, 1965, and they were married 47 years; son, Charles Norman Christian; brothers, William “Billy” Gooch (Wilma) and Arcy Leon Meador; and sisters, Agnes “Pauline” Meador (James Murphy), Eunice Dean Meador Jones (Louis), and Vernice Meador Hester (Lavern).  She is survived by son, Paul Alan Christian of Chattanooga, TN; grandson, Zachary Charles Christian; great granddaughter, Taylor Christian; brother, Gordon “Lee” Meador of Gallatin; sister, Peggy Flynn of Nashville; and many nephews and nieces.  She worked as a switch board operator, clerk at Cooper and Martin, and at Gallatin High School.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First Baptist Church, Gallatin, P.O.  Box 369, Gallatin, TN  37066.  Online condolences may be submitted at alexanderheritagefh.com.  Alexander Heritage Funeral Home has been honored with arrangements.
