Obituary of Charles Wesley Murphy

Charles Wesley Murphy, age 58 of Bethpage, passed away Wednesday, September 20, 2017.  At his request, no public service will be held.  Online condolences may be submitted at alexanderheritagefh.com.  Alexander Heritage Funeral home has been honored with arrangements.  Donations may be sent to Group Health Hospice Care.

Mr. Murphy was born October 17, 1958 in Nashville, TN, to John and Betty Murphy.

Charlie graduated from Gallatin Senior High School.  He continued his education to become an electrician.  For close to 40 years, he was an electrician working at Stanwell Electric, Dupont, and various other electrical companies.

Charlie lived the values taught to him by his parents; to care for others, to always do his best, and to always be trusted to do the right thing.  While still a teenager, he assumed the responsibilities of a family.  His family was his top priority and his commitment to them never wavered.  Charlie had a love of horses, which began on his parent’s farm on Long Hollow Pike.  On his Bethpage farm, he enjoyed the quiet country life with his dogs, family horse rides, and cultivating a large garden.

Mr. Murphy will be deeply missed by Deborah Lewis, his wife of 38 years, his daughter, Kristie Barrett, his grandchildren, Tracey and Morgan Barrett, his loving mother, Betty Trigg Murphy, his sister, Donna (Tom) Harris, his sisters and brother-in-law, his nieces and nephews, and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, John Wesley Murphy, Jr. and his daughter, Tracey Lynn Murphy.
