Tommy was the best barber I ever knew. We had many conversations through the years in the old barber chair at Douglas Barber Shop about his fishing trips and life in general. He will be greatly missed!

For those who don’t know; Tommy and my John are first cousins. I first met Tommy in July 1959 as a tall, skinny, smiling, happy, typical young teenager. In my memories of him of those days, he laughed and played with great energy. I still love to hear the recounts of the daring escapades that he, John, Jim, Larry and sometimes Rodger would pull. To hear them tell them, it’s a wonder any of them made it to adulthood! The time they all piled in a wagon and came ricocheting down off the hill with intentions of jumping the creek! The cleared the creek, all right! Got stuck in the landing! Do I need paint a funnier picture! Then, there’s the... “Hey, the tobacco is in order! Let’s make cigars! Off to the woods they went! Where they stayed all afternoon too sick and scared to try to make it back to the house!” He is now, and, it seems such a cliche, resting in peace.

Tommy was my Babe Ruth coach when I was 12. Nicknamed me "Third Base" cause he talked me into stealing home when I really didn't want to. Told him I was comfortable on third. LOL! He cut my hair for years and always had jokes and smiles. He's one of the men that I think about when I recall growing up in Gallatin. Sorry for your family's loss.

Hard to believe ur gone Uncle Tommy but we all only saying goodbye to u for a little bit because we will all b together again strolling all over heaven someday soon!!! I know all the kids will miss u deeply but they know how happy u r seeing Jesus face and ur mom and dad and baby Ronnie all our love ones that have went on !!! We love u Uncle Tommy and will live to see u walking on the streets of gold with no more pain!!! Prayers for all the family!!!!!
