Obituary of Mrs. Helen Ann Scruggs

Mrs. Helen Ann Scruggs, age 76 of Portland, TN passed away Sunday, March 11, 2018 at Sumner Regional Medical Center in Gallatin, TN. Mrs. Scruggs was born July 21, 1941 in Rock Bridge, TN the daughter of the late Lonnie Carson and Martha Perry Hodges. Mrs. Scruggs is survived by her husband of 60 years, Henry Scruggs of Portland, TN. A sister, Patricia Whittemore of Portland, TN. Her baby dog, Zoe and several nieces and nephews. Along with her parents, Helen was preceded in death by five brothers; William Hodges, A.T. Hodges, Howard Hodges, Virgil Hodges and Lonnie Hodges. She was also preceded in death by five sisters; Gladys Harris, Joy Harris, Christine Key, Mary Higgins and Sarah Hodges. Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Thursday, March 15, 2018 at Gilbert Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Rock Bridge Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2:00 PM to 9:00 PM Wednesday and from 9:00 AM until service time Thursday at Gilbert Funeral Home.
