Obituary of Mr. Douglas Eugene Garton

Mr. Douglas Eugene Garton, age 70 of Portland, TN. entered into rest on Friday, June 30, 2017 at his home in Portland, TN. Mr. Garton was born November 26, 1946 in Dickson, TN. Mr. Garton is survived by his wife, Sharon Kaye Garton of Portland, TN. A son, Craig Garton (Janna) of Hendersonville, TN. A daughter, Kimberly Jones (Patrick) of Portland, TN. His mother, Helen Davidson. Four sisters, Michelle Meadows, Gayle Shelton, Allene Edwards, and Jennifer Lynn Garton. Four grandchildren, Josie Johnny, Caylei, and Layah. Mr. Garton was preceded in death by his father, Eugene Jackson Garton and a sister, Linda Waychoff. The family has chosen cremation. Visitation will be held Sunday, July 9, 2017 from 3:00 PM until 5:00 PM at Gilbert Funeral Home.
