Obituary of Mr. Jerry Lawrence Dorris

Mr. Jerry Lawrence Dorris, age 76 of Portland, TN, passed away Monday, June 26, 2017 at Portland TriStar ER in Portland, TN. Mr. Dorris was born March 2, 1941 in Portland, TN. the son of the late Lawrence D. and Dorothy Marie Dorris. Mr. Dorris is survived by his daughter, LaDonna Barber (Mike) of Westmoreland, TN. Two granddaughters, Trisha Gregory and Kendra Scarbro. Three great grandchildren, Shelby Amburgey, Brianna Amburgey and Luke "Rocky" Keeton. Mr. Dorris was preceded in death by his wife, Darlene who passed away earlier this month. Jerry worked at Peterbilt in Nashville where he was a 35 year retiree. Funeral services will be held 1:00 PM Saturday, July 1, 2017 at Gilbert Funeral Home in Portland, TN. Burial will follow at Old Brush Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2:00 PM to 9:00 PM Thursday, from 9:00 AM to 9:00 PM Friday and from 9:00 AM until service time Saturday at Gilbert Funeral Home.
