Mrs. Leah Ann Hammonds, age 45 of Portland, TN. entered into rest on Monday, June 26, 2017 at the TriStar ER in Portland, TN. Mrs. Hammonds was born December 20, 1971 in Louisville, KY. Mrs. Hammonds is survived by her husband, James Timothy Hammonds of Portland, TN. A son, Brent Hammonds of Portland, TN. A daughter, Chelsea Nicole Pearson (Coty) of Gallatin, TN. Her father, Alonzo Johnston of Springfield, TN. A brother, Phillip Johnston of Springfield, TN. A sister, Erin Elizabeth Adcock of Greenbriar, TN. and five grandchildren. Leah Ann was preceded in death by her mother, Doya Jones Johnston. Mrs. Hammonds worked in the pediatric department at Northcrest Medical Center in Springfield, TN. Funeral services will be held 1:00 PM Friday, June 30, 2017 at Gilbert Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Crestview Memorial Garden in Gallatin, TN. Visitation will be from 3:00 PM to 9:00 PM Thursday and from 9:00 AM until service time Friday at Gilbert Funeral Home.
