Mrs. Peggy Murphy , age 83 of Portland, TN., passed away January 30, 2016 at The Bridge at Highland nursing facility in Portland, TN. Mrs. Murphy was born November 10, 1932 in Lothair, KY. Mrs. Murphy is survived by her husband, Donald Murphy of Portland, TN. A son, James P. Sexton of Madisonville, KY. A daughter, Pamela R. Sexton of Portland, TN. 3 sisters, Patricia Chalfant of Lebanon, TN., Rachel Kisac and Iline Fugate both of Portland, TN. 3 grandchildren, Stephen, Jacquelyn and Margo Branham. 2 great grandchildren, Ellie and Tate Branham-Martin. Funeral service will be held 2:00 PM Wednesday, February 3, 2016 at Portland Funeral Chapel with burial to follow at Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Orlinda, TN. Visitation will be held from 11:00 AM until service time Wednesday at Portland Funeral Chapel. Pallbearers will be Jimmy Murphy, Johnny Murphy, Steve Chalfant, Stephen Branham, Jarrett Noffsinger, and Casey Martin.
