Mr. Charles King , age 87 of Portland, TN., passed away January 26, 2016 at The Bridge at Highland nursing facility in Portland, TN. Mr. King was born April 29, 1928 in Portland, TN, the son of the late Charles B. and Onie A. King. Mr. King is survived by a son, Mike Settles of Portland, TN. 3 daughters, Sherry Link of Portland, TN., Brenda Merritt of Franklin, KY., and Debbie Howard of Westmoreland, TN. 10 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren, and 2 great great grandchildren. Mr. King was preceded in death by his wife, Dorthy Jeanette King, 2 sisters, and a brother. Funeral service will be held 1:00 PM Friday, January 29, 2016 at Portland Funeral Chapel with burial to follow at Old Brush Cemetery in Portland, TN. Visitation will be held from 2:00 PM to 9:00 PM Thursday and from 9:00 AM until service time Friday at Portland Funeral Chapel. Pallbearers will be Jason Bray, Michael Settles, Lanny Harris, Trevor Settles, Kyle Bray, Kota White, Phillip Settles, and Clyde Hall.
