Obituary of Mr. John W. Clemmons

Mr. John W. Clemmons, age 87 of Springfield, TN., passed away Sunday, October 25, 2015 at Skyline Madison Campus in Madison, TN. Mr. Clemmons was born July 5, 1928 in South Tunnel, TN. He was the son of the late Bill and Zelma Clemmons. Mr. Clemmons is survived by 2 sons; John (Jessica), and Jerry (Diane) Clemmons both of Springfield, TN. 3 daughters; Pam (Jay) Gregory of Springfield, TN., Sue Homier of Monroe, OR., and Shirley Hogan of Springfield, OR. 3 sisters; Jessie Hartley of Jasper, IN., Polly Humphrey of Salem, IN., and Mary Munday of California. 10 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren, and 4 great great grandchildren. John was preceded in death by his wife, Rita Joan Clemmons, a son Robert "Bob" Clemmons, a grandson Jonathan Clemmons and a great granddaughter Dani Ray Reed. John was of baptist faith and loved to train racehorses. Funeral services will be held 1:00 PM Wednesday, October 28, 2015 at Portland Funeral Chapel. Burial will follow at Old Brush Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00 PM to 9:00 PM Tuesday and from 9:00 AM until service time Wednesday at Portland Funeral Chapel.
