Obituary of Mary Cecelia Davis Mitchell

Mary C. Mitchell, age 91, passed away on the 13th of September, 2010. Services, conducted by Reverend Michael O"Bryan and Dr. Jonathan Richerson, at St. Frances Cabrini Catholic Church 10 a.m. Thursday, September 16, 2010. Interment in Wilson County Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers: Tom Waker Jr, Mike Waker, Todd Waker, Steve Waker, Scott Mitchell, Bruce Mitchell, Greg Lasater, Jason Lasater, Mitchell Hobbs, and Michael Hobbs. Honorary Pallbearers: Mae Hendrickson, Linda White, Barbara Conner, Anne Thompson, and the St. Frances Wednesday Ladies Brunch Bunch. Visitation on Thursday is from 9 a.m. until the service at the church. Visitation on Wednesday, September 15, 2010 at Sellars Funeral Home in Lebanon from 5-8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, please make memorial donations in her name to: the Building Fund for St. Frances Cabrini Catholic Church (300 S. Tarver Ave, Lebanon TN 37087) and/or the Building Fund for West Haven Baptist Church (5860 Lebanon Rd, Lebanon TN). She was born on June 20, 1919 in Texas City, Texas and she graduated from Julienne Catholic High School there. Mary was preceded in death by her husband Norman L. "Bud" Mitchell and her sister Martha Marsh who died on September 10, 2010 in Tuscaloosa, AL. She and her husband moved to Lebanon in 1964. She joined McFarland Hospital as a Patient Services Representative, where she stayed until retiring. Mary is survived by her four children: Norm (Peg) Mitchell of Marietta GA, Linda (Tom) Waker of Kettering OH, Susan Thomas, and Debbie Hobbs, both of Lebanon. She had fourteen grandchildren: Scott (Renee) Mitchell of Plano TX, Amy Mitchell (Bill) Knopka of Napa CA, Bruce (Laurie) Mitchell of San Clemente CA, Jill Poe of Canton GA, Thomas Waker of Oakwood OH, Steve (Kathy) Waker, Mike (Patty) Waker and Todd (Debbie) Waker of Kettering OH, Greg (Theresa) Lasater, Jason (Chalet) Lasater and Jennifer Hobbs of Lebanon TN, Mitchell (Lisa Hobbs of Alpharetta GA, Michael (Shannan) Hobbs of Hahira GA, Lori (Jeff) McKenzie of Alpharetta GA; 26 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
