Obituary of Julia Aline Hampton

Julia Aline Hampton, age 92 of Gallatin, passed away Thursday, July 23, 2015. Funeral Service will be 1:00 p.m. Saturday, July 25th at Gallatin First Baptist Church with Rev. John Penfield officiating. Visitation will be Friday, July 24th from 4:00-8:00 p.m. at Family Heritage Funeral Home and Saturday, July 25th from 12:00 noon until time of service at the church. Entombment will follow in Sumner Memorial Gardens Mausoleum with Nick Campbell, Lance Hampton, Will Campbell, Brooks Browning, Bill Edwards and Luke Alger serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be the staff of Morningside of Gallatin. Mrs. Hampton was born September 6, 1922 in Smith County in Difficult, TN at Defeated Creek in the "Hogtown" community, daughter of the late William Edward Petty and Hettie Bell Law Petty. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, James L. "Hamp" Hampton; son, James David "Jim" Hampton and eleven siblings. She is survived by son, Randy Hampton (Mohota) of Gallatin; daughter, Cathey Campbell (Nick) of Nashville; daughter-in-law, Elizabeth Hampton of Bedford, VA; grandchildren, Jenny Hampton Browning, Lance Hampton (Susan), David Hampton (Meg Rithmire), Jeff Hampton, Will Campbell (Candace) and Madeline Campbell Alger (Luke); great grandchildren, Brooks Browning, Gracie Hampton, Nolan Campbell, Graham Campbell and Theodore Hampton. Mrs. Hampton was a bookkeeper for Vic Jenkins Chevrolet and was a member of Gallatin First Baptist Church. She taught Sunday school for 60+ years and was active in mission ministry. She also taught a Bible class at Morningside Assisted Living of Gallatin where she was a resident. Memorials may be made to Gallatin First Baptist Church, c/o Homebound Ministries, P. O.
