Obituary of Bertie L Carlisle

Bertie Lee Carlisle was born in Dekalb County, Tennessee on April 24, 1939 to the late Jesse Lee and Emma Velma Braswell Arnold. She was one of five siblings born to this union. On Sunday, January 20, 2013, the Lord called Bertie home. A funeral service for Bertie Carlisle was conducted on Wednesday, January 23 at 1 PM from the Chapel of Alexander Funeral Home with Reverend Donald Brawner and Brother Jerry Ramsey officiating. Interment followed in the Haysville Cemetery. Richard Walker, Rodney Walker, Jason Walker, Jerry Prater, Danny Prater, and Carl Curtis served as Pallbearers. As a young woman, Bertie was married to I. T. Satterfield and to this union was born two sons. I. T. passed away when the boys were young and Bertie later married Gervis Howser, with whom she spent most of her married life. After Gervis passed away, Bertie went on to marry George Carlisle who also preceded her in death. Besides her parents and husbands; brothers, Glenn and Ronnie Arnold and a daughter, Lisa Lee Satterfield also preceded her in death. Bertie was a retired factory worker. She attended the Shells Ford Baptist Church. Bertie was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Her grandchildren were her pride and joy. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends. Bertie is survived by; sons, Jimmy Davis Satterfield and Jesse Tommy (Misty) Satterfield, all of Lafayette, Sisters, Geneva (Wayne)Prater and Wanda (Roy) Adams all of McMinnville, stepson, Paul Howser, step daughter, Patricia Bartley, grandchildren, Kurtis Satterfield and Britany Satterfield all of Lafayette, Brooklyn Satterfield of Hartsville, great granchild, Kenzlee Satterfield of Lafayette, several nieces and nephews also survive.
