Obituary of Carline Shockley

Carline "Red" Shockley was born on July 17, 1932 to the late Johnny Clide and Gracie Bell Shockley in Allen County, Kentucky. He was one of three children. Besides Red's parents; brother-in-law, Charles Payne also preceded him in death. Red went into the Army in 1952 serving during the Korean War until October 16, 1954. After returning home, he married the former Lamon Lois Harper on October 23, 1954. They shared fifty-nine wonderful years together. They have one son, Micky and one daughter, Shelia. Red was a farmer who worked long hours in the fields, tending his crops. He wanted more than anything to provide for his family. Red was a loving and caring family man, enjoying every minute spent with them. The grandchildren and great-grandchildren especially lite up his life. He was a member of Red Hill Missionary Baptist Church. On Monday, March 10, 2014, the Lord called Red home. Lamon and the family will greatly miss him, but our loss is Heaven's Gain. Funeral Services for Carline "Red" Shockley were conducted Thursday at 11am from the Alexander Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Jerry Gammon and Elder J.E. Shoulders officiating. Gerald Shockley and Colton Shockley served as Honorary Pallbearers. Michael Shockley, Johnny Shockley, Eric Davis, Terry Parker, Barry Parker, Rick Keller, and Hayden Shockley served as Active Pallbearers. Interment followed in the Red Hill Cemetery. Red is survived by; Wife, Lamon Shockley of the Red Hill Community, Son, Micky (Ruth) Shockley of Lafayette, TN, Daughter, Shelia (Terry) Davis of Scottsville, KY, Grandchildren, Michael Shockley, Emily Davis, Eric Davis all of Scottsville, KY, and Johnny (Melissa) Shockley of Lafayette, TN, Great-Grandchildren, Hayden Shockley, Hannah Shockley, Carlie Shockley, and Colton Shockley.
