Obituary of Lillie Mai Jenkins

Lillie Mai Jenkins was born on November 18, 1929 in Macon County, Tennessee to the late W.T. and Iva Creasy Gross. She was one of three siblings born to this union. Lillie Mai was married first to Willie J. Jenkins the father of her sons, Barry and Randy, who passed away. Later on November 28, 1964, she was married to James W. Jenkins the father of her daughter, Charlotte. Lillie Mai and James were married forty-four years; he also preceded her in death on September 5, 2008. Besides her husbands and parents; son, William Thomas Jenkins, and Brother, Edward Gross also preceded her in death. She went to work for Formfit Rogers as a Line Supervisor. She was a homemaker for years and always supported her husband in his business. Everyone enjoyed being around Lillie Mai. She worried about everybody and wanted everyone safe and happy. She always liked working in her flowers and playing piano. Lillie Mai was a member of Brattontown Missionary Baptist Church. She also belonged to the Beta Alpha Chapter of Beta Sigma Phi Sorority. On Friday, March 14, 2014, the Angels took Lillie Mai to meet James again. She will be truly missed by the family, but our loss is Heaven's Gain. Funeral services for Ms. Lillie Mai Jenkins were conducted Monday at 11 am from the Alexander Funeral Home Chapel with Elder Guthrie Thompson and Elder Daniel Cook officiating. Braxton Boles, Brady Boles, and Brandon Jenkins served as Honorary Pallbearers. Jon Hesson, Josh Boles, Brian Jenkins, Cody Miller, Shane Hesson, David McClard, Kris McClard, and Kelly McCard served as Active Pallbearers. Interment followed in the Long Creek Cemetery. Lillie Mai is survived by; Sons, Barry and Janice Jenkins, and Randy and Debbie Jenkins all of Lafayette, TN, Daughter, Charlotte Jenkins of Maryland, Grandchildren, Deneshia (Jon) Hesson of Lafayette, TN, Bridget (Josh) Boles of Red Boiling Springs, TN, Turell Wix, and Brian Jenkins of Lafayette, TN, Great-Grandchildren, Cody Miller, Shane Hesson, Jory and Morgan Wix, Brandon Jenkins, Braxton and Brady Boles, and Trista Jenkins, and Sister, Myra (Mick) McClard.
