Obituary of O.C. Taylor

Odell Clay Taylor, better known as "O.C.", was born on November 8, 1935 in Lafayette, Tennessee, to the late Charlie Taylor and Lillie Likens Taylor. He was one of six children born to this union. O.C. was raised in Lafayette, Tennessee and later moved to Indianapolis, Indiana to work. He married the love of his life, Lera Whittemore and they shared fifty-nine wonderful years together. O.C. was a foreman at Inland Container and retired after twenty-five years. Along with his parents O.C. was preceded in death by a daughter, Sharon Taylor Pollak, Brothers, Wilburn Taylor and James "J.C." Taylor. O.C. enjoyed the great outdoors - fishing, boating, and camping. He always had a smile on his face and he loved spending time with his family and friends. On Saturday, January 30, 2016, at Saint Francis Hospital, at the age of eighty years, two months, and twenty-two days, O.C. was called to his eternal home. He will be greatly missed by his dear family and friends. O.C. Taylor is survived by; Wife, Lera Whittemore Taylor; Daughter, Arleen and husband, Dan Acton; Grandchildren, Jessica Acton and Damon Acton; Brother, Jody Taylor; Sisters, Mary Taylor and Martha Taylor. Funeral services for O.C. Taylor were conducted on Thursday, February 04, 2016, at 11 AM from the chapel of Alexander Funeral Home with Bryan Sircy officiating. Interment followed in the Haysville Cemetery.
