Obituary of Joel Gregg Kimmer, Sr

Joel Gregg Kimmer, Sr., age 68 of Westmoreland, TN, passed away Tuesday, September 11, 2018.  Celebration of Life Service will be Friday, September 14th at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of Alexander Family Heritage Funeral Home, 100 Albert Gallatin Avenue.  Visitation will be Thursday, September 13th from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. and Friday, September 14th from 9:00 a.m. until time of service at 11:00 a.m.  Graveside Service and Internment will be Saturday, September 15th at 2:00 p.m. at Cedar Grove Cemetery, Floral, Arkansas.  Visitation will be Saturday, September 15th from 12:00 p.m. until time of Graveside Service at 2:00 p.m. at Cedar Grove United Methodist Church.

Mr. Kimmer was born February 21, 1950 in Batesville, AR to the late Roe Freeman Kimmer and Voncille James Kimmer.  In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his grandparents, who raised him, Elsie James and Ollie James; daughter, Melissa Paige Doughty; sister, Janie Spaunhorst.  He is survived by wife of 43 years, Hope Fowler Kimmer of Westmoreland; son, Gregg Kimmer, Jr. (Emily) of Chicago, IL; brother, James Spaunhorst (Virginia) of Greenbrier, TN; sister-in-law, Faith McCoy (Larry) of Gallatin; 5 grandchildren, Elizabeth “Ebidis” Doughty, Emilie Paige Doughty, Olivia Erin Doughty, Samantha “Sam” Kimmer, and Benjamin Thomas Kimmer; 2 great grandchildren, Joel Cash Pieschel and Ruby Paige Brown; nephews, Jody Ray McCoy, Jamie Lynn McCoy, Jeremy Fowler McCoy, and Chris Spaunhorst; and niece, Tonya Linbille. Mr. Kimmer was the Production Manager for Wally Fowler Music Production, his father-in-law, for 15 years.  He was with Pilot Travel Centers, his extended family, for 23 years.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, 2000 Charlotte Avenue, Nashville, TN 37203, or Tennessee Kidney Foundation, 37 Peabody Street, Suite #206, Nashville, TN 37210.  Online condolences may be submitted at alexanderheritagefh.com.  Alexander Family Heritage Funeral Home has been honored with arrangements.
