Obituary of Dorothy Knight Bagley

Mrs. Dorothy Knight Bagley, age 91 of Hartsville, TN died Friday afternoon, June 12, 2015 at Hartsville Convalescent Center. Preceded in death by: Husband, Homer Troy Bagley, Parents, George Carter Knight & Claydie Crockett Knight & Brother, George Crockett Knight. Survived by: 2 Daughters, Ms. Ann Holder-Huntsville, TX & Mrs. Lynn (John) Oliver-Dixon Springs, TN; Step Daughter, Mrs. Janet (Brad) Tanner-Hixon, TN; 7 Grandchildren, Matthew (Rebekah) Holder, Elizabeth (Nathan) Stotts, Melanie (Matt) Burton, Julie Arnold, Rebecca Jones, Spence (Farah) Oliver & Emily (Daniel) Erspamer; 14 Great Grandchildren; 2 Sisters, Mrs. Patsy (Robert) Nichols-Nashville, TN & Mrs. Sarah (William) Hiser-Cape Coral, FL and Special Niece, Ms. Janet Nichols. Mrs. Bagley was born in Hurricane Mills, TN and graduated high school in Waverly, TN. She moved to Washington D.C. to serve as a civilian worker assigning sailors to Coast Guard ships at the beginning of World War II. The majority of her working career was spent in Nashville where she raised her two daughters. Mrs. Bagley ended her career as the office administrator for a heating and air conditioning company. Her marriage to Homer Bagley brought her great happiness. Graveside services will be held at 11 AM Monday, June 15, 2015 at the Dixon Springs Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be from 2 to 6 PM Sunday at Anthony Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Ward School Preservation Fund or to the Public Library of your choice.
