Obituary of William Crook

Chief Billy Crook, age 70 of Gallatin, passed away Friday December 4, 2015. Funeral Service will be Thursday December 10th at the Gallatin Civic Center at 2:30 p.m., with Pastor Larry Meadors officiating. Interment will follow at Sumner Memorial Gardens, with members of the Fire Department serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be William “Billy” Crook, David Crook, Jeff Crook, Tommy Williams, Johnnie Starling, Chris Williams, Mitchell Rosenboom, and Roger Redmon. Visitation will be at Family Heritage Funeral Home Tuesday December 8th from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and Wednesday December 9th from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., and Thursday December 10th from 11:30 a.m. until time to leave for the Civic Center. Chief Crook was born October 13, 1945 to the late William F. Crook and Margie B. Cantrell Crook. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by sisters, Norma J. Hawkins, and Sharon Williams. He is survived by wife of 25 years, Vicki Starling Crook of Gallatin; son, William “Billy” Crook (Shirley) of Gallatin; daughter, Melodie Crook (Roger Redmon) of Gallatin; brother, David Crook (Bonnie) of Gallatin; 2 grandchildren, Austin Kemp, and Jesse Crook; mother and father in law, Mary Sims and Charlie Sims of Nashville; sister-in-law, Lee Ann Dichtel of Nashville; and nieces and nephews. Chief Crook retired from the City of Gallatin Fire Department after 49 years of service.
