Obituary of David Eugene Barnard

Barnard, David Eugene, 57, passed away Tuesday, February 23, 2016 at his home in Mount Juliet, Tennessee. Tennessee had been his home since the early 1990's and he loved it here. David was born June 6, 1958 to Donald and Cherie (Bouwmeester) Barnard in Montpellier, Ohio. David was preceded in death by his parents, Cherie Barnard Perez (2009) and Donald Barnard (1997) as well as his grandparents. David leaves many beloved family members and friends, including his wife, Gale Barnard; daughters, Jessica Barnard Smith (and husband, Douglas Smith) Hermitage, TN, and Leah Barnard, Mount Juliet, TN; son, Blake Barnard, Mount Juliet, TN; step-children; Angie Stoklasa, Nashville, TN, Amber Stoklasa Smith (and husband, Kenny Smith), Eagleville, TN and Abe Stoklasa, Nashville, TN. He leaves 3 incredibly precious grandchildren, Tucker Smith (parents, Jessica and Doug), Knox and Emma Smith (parents, Amber and Kenny). He leaves his sisters, Robin Barnard Boles (and husband, Charles 3 children, 1 grandchild) Freemont, CA, Cinda Barnard Hollinger (and 2 children, 5 grandchildren), Campbell, CA, Terri Barnard Busch (and husband Larry, 2 children), Porter, TX, Molly Barnard Schock (and husband, Tim, 5 children), and 1 brother, Steven Barnard (and wife, Sara, 1 child), South Carolina as well as numerous other relatives and friends. David was a member of the First Baptist Church of Mount Juliet, TN. Throughout his youth he loved playing football, baseball, and as a young adult competing and teaching Marshall Arts. David served in the Navy after high school. Soon after his stint in the Navy he married Lorinda Tomlinson in Ohio. Later, he married Gale Stoklasa in Mount Juliet, TN. He worked for many years with Coca-Cola Bottling Company as one of their Corporate Technical Service Directors before going into the automotive business serving many positions such as Parts Manager and ultimately consulting and training other dealerships in parts and inventory management. We will celebrate his life on Saturday, February 27, 2016, 5 pm at the Sellars Funeral Home at Mt. Juliet at 2229 N. Mt Juliet Rd, Mount Juliet, TN 37122 with Pastor David Fallon officiating. Visitation hours will be the two hours preceding the service, 3 pm to 5pm. David wished his ashes to be returned to the earth in the same beautiful location that he placed his mother's ashes in the Smoky Mountains.
