Obituary of Iva Ruth Fussell Patterson

Mrs. Patterson was preceded in death by her husband, Daniel E. Patterson; her oldest son, John Daniel Patterson, Sr; all of her siblings; and her Step Granddaughter, Brandy Dorris Paul. She is survived by her devoted children, Sara Etta Patterson Gilliam (Carl) from Franklin, TN; Wayne Ewing Patterson (Jackie) from Gallatin, TN; and Sergeant First Class (Retired) Iva Rose Patterson-Cavanah (Roger) from Clarksville, TN. Mrs. Patterson is also survived by eight grandchildren: Wayne Daniel Patterson (Christy), of Gallatin, TN; Sarah Elaine Patterson of Alexandria, TN; Travis Dean Patterson (Michelle) of Gallatin, TN; John Daniel Patterson, Jr. (Jessica) of Castalian Springs, TN; Blake Neil Patterson of Gallatin, TN; Dr. Carl Cathy Gilliam IV of Franklin, TN; Luka Michelle Patterson of Gallatin, TN; and Joseph Foster Gilliam of Franklin, TN. Mrs. Patterson is also survived by four step grandchildren: Travis Dale Dorris (Sharon) of Ridge Top, TN; Joshua Dale Cavanah of New Johnsonville, TN; , Melinda Sue Cavanah McClendon (Jason) of Gallatin, TN; and Elizabeth Ann Cavanah of Gallatin, TN. Iva Ruth is also survived by fourteen great grandchildren: Paige Elaine Burton, David Aaron Burton, Dylan Edward Patterson, Austin Dean Patterson, John Daniel Patterson, III, Iva Rachel Marie Patterson, Rachel Marie Patterson-Wetnite, Dalton Wayne Bain, Nelissa Ann Dowell, Christian Neil Patterson, Taryn Elizabeth Patterson, Nathan Paul Patterson, Gabriel Presley Patterson, and Leah Michelle Patterson. Mrs. Patterson is also survived by ten step great grandchildren: Jessica Emamalie Patterson (John Daniel, Jr), Derek Boze (Laci Jo), Desiree Dorris, Eric Paul, Hunter Scott Dorris, Vivian Hope Dorris, Madison Nicole Marie Warnock, Jason McClendon, Destiny Faith Morgan and Noah Isaiah McClendon. Iva Ruth is also survived by two great-great grandchild, Chandler Aaron Burton, Jasmin Mariah Burton, and two step great-great grandchildren: Nathan Paul Patterson and Audrey Boze. Mrs. Patterson is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Mrs. Patterson was a member of the Hartsville church of Christ since 1953 timeframe. She was a graduate of Austin Peay State University, 1951 and a school teacher afterwards. Iva Ruth was one of the very last school teachers to teach in a one-room school. Funeral services will be conducted a 12:00 PM, Monday, November 14, 2016 in the chapel of the Gallatin Family Heritage Funeral Home, 100 Albert Gallatin Avenue, Gallatin, TN 37066. There will also be a graveside service at the Hagewood-Hand Cemetery, Charlotte, TN. at 3:00 p.m. Pallbearers: Wayne Daniel Patterson, Travis Patterson, John Patterson, Blake Patterson, Dr. Carl Gilliam IV, Joseph Gilliam, Derek Boze, and David Burton. The family will receive friends for visitation on Sunday, November 13, 2016 from 3-8 PM and the funeral services on Monday, November 14, 2016 at 12:00 PM. Visitation preceding the services will be 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Family Heritage Funeral Home, 100 Albert Gallatin Avenue, Gallatin, TN 37066.
