Obituary of William "Bill" Thompson

William “Bill” Thompson, age 83 of Bethpage, passed away Friday January 27, 2017. Funeral Service will be Sunday January 29th at 2:00 p.m. from the chapel of Family Heritage Funeral Home, with Bro. Guthrie Gregory and Bro. Guthrie Thompson officiating. Visitation will be Saturday January 28th from 2:00 – 8:00 p.m. and Sunday January 29th from 12:00 p.m. until time of service. Interment will follow at Bradley Cemetery with David Thompson, Wayne Thompson, Phillip Thompson, Matthew Thompson, Bryan Thompson, and Tyler Roberts serving as pallbearers. Mr. Thompson was born August 29, 1933 in Sumner County to the late, Paul Thompson and Estelle Proctor Thompson. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by siblings, Polly Dickins, Douglas Thompson, J. B. Thompson, and Patricia Crook. He is survived by wife of 64 years, Bette Manning Thompson of Bethpage; “his little buddy”, Tuck; children, Terry Thompson (Vickie) of Gallatin, Pam Thompson-Tackett (John) of Hendersonville, Marty Thompson (Cindy) of Portland, and Kim Thompson of Gallatin; brothers, Harold Thompson (June) of Castalian Springs and Bobby Thompson (Charlotte) of Gallatin; sisters, Cornelia Harper (John) of Gallatin and Kay Gregory (Tommy) of Gallatin; 3 grandchildren, Bryan Thompson, Stacie Pack (Jason), and Matthew Thompson; and 3 great grandchildren, Tyler Roberts, Mary Grace Bastin, and Camren Jones.
