Obituary of Jewel Cox

Jewel Cox, age 91 of Gallatin, passed away Monday, July 3, 2017.  Funeral Service will be Thursday, July 6th at 2:00 p.m.  from the chapel of Family Heritage Funeral Home, with Bro. Jerry Peace officiating.  Visitation will be Wednesday, July 5th from 2:00 – 8:00 p.m. and Thursday, July 6th from 12:00 p.m. until time of service.  Interment will follow the service at Crestview Memory Gardens, with family and friends serving as pallbearers. 

Mrs. Cox was born September 3, 1925 in Smith County, to the late Johnny Woodard and Flossie Chaffin Woodard.  In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by husband, Tommy Cox, Sr.; and sister, Robbie West.  She is survived by sons, Tommy Cox, Jr. (Shelia) of Gallatin and Jerry Cox (Lois) of Gallatin; brother, Donnie Woodard (Anna) of Pleasant Shade; sisters, Frances Woods of Gallatin, Ruby Mae West of Defeated, Pauline Kinslow of Glasgow, KY, and Jo Helen Nixon of Carthage; brother-in-law, Wayne West of Carthage; 4 grandchildren; and 7 great grandchildren.  Mrs. Cox retired from Eaton Corporation.  Online condolences may be submitted at familyheritagefh.com.  Family Heritage Funeral Home has been entrusted with arrangements.
