Obituary of Mabel Glenn Byrum

Mabel Glenn Byrum, age 99 of Dixon Springs, passed away Friday, December 8, 2017.  Funeral Service will be Tuesday, December 12th at 11:00 a.m. at LaVergne First United Methodist Church (248 Waldron Road, LaVergne, TN 37086), with Rev. Francis Hennessey, III officiating.  Interment will follow at Evergreen Cemetery (519 Greenland Drive, Murfreesboro, TN, 37130), with her grandchildren serving as pallbearers.  Visitation will be Monday, December 11th from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Alexander Family Heritage Funeral Home (100 Albert Gallatin Avenue, Gallatin, TN  37066), and Tuesday, December 12th from 10:00 a.m. until time of service at 11:00 a.m. at the church.

Mrs. Byrum was born September 22, 1918 in Nolensville, to the late Philip Glenn and Aldie Addison Glenn.  In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by husband, Horace C. Byrum; and daughters, Glenda Owens and Kaye Wilson.  She is survived by sons, Phil Byrum of Gallatin, Charlie Byrum (Lesa) of Nashville, and Gary Byrum (Kathy) of Auburndale, FL; 14 grandchildren; 24 great grandchildren; and 1 great-great grandchild.  Mrs. Byrum was a founding member of First United Methodist Church in LaVergne.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to LaVergne First United Methodist Church, 248 Waldron Road, LaVergne, TN  37086.  Online condolences may be submitted at alexanderheritagefh.com.  Alexander Family Heritage Funeral Home has been honored with arrangements.
