Obituary of A.C. Batson

Arthur Clarence (A.C.) Batson, Jr., passed away on Wednesday, June 27^th, 2018 at the age of 81. Mr. Batson was born on September 19^th, 1936 in Ashland City, Tennessee to the late Arthur Clarence, Sr. and Lydia Mai Hunter Batson.

A.C. was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, cousin, and dear friend. He served his country in the U.S. Army from 1959 – 1962. He was a skilled homebuilder and retired from Fox Ridge Home Builders in 2001. He was a member of the New Life Apostolic Church in Nashville, Tennessee.

A.C. will be remembered as a happy person who loved to sing and laugh. He loved the Lord and shared his faith with everyone he came into contact with. Everyone came away uplifted after being around him.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his sisters, Doralene Batson and Betty Jane Reynolds; brothers, John D. Batson and Alexander (Bud) Batson.

A.C. is survived by his wife of fifty-eight years, Barbara Haislip Batson of Mt. Juliet, Tennessee; daughter, Dana (Bob) Donat of Goodlettsville, Tennessee; two beloved grandchildren, Mitchell Donat of Memphis, Tennessee and Lauren (Schuler) Edge of Goldsboro, North Carolina; brothers, Don (Barb) Batson of Ashland City, Tennessee; Rev. Jack (Charolyn) Batson of Nashville, Tennessee; sisters, Lena Harrell of Ashland City, Tennessee, Francis (Mike) Batts of Bon Aqua, Tennessee; Aline (Charles) Roberts of Lyles, Tennessee. He was “Uncle A.C.” to numerous nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday, June 30^th, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. in the chapel of Sellars Funeral Home in Mt. Juliet with Rev. Jack Batson and Rev. Bob Donat officiating. Interment will follow in Springfield, Tennessee. Visitation with the family will be held on Friday, June 29^th from 4:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. and on Saturday, June 30^th from 12:00 p.m. – service time.
