Obituary of Bobby Lee McKinney

Bobby Lee McKinney passed away on October 19, 2018 at age 67. Mr. McKinney was a veteran of the United States Navy and retired as Plans Examiner II for Ada County in his home state of Idaho. He is survived by his wife of 34 years, Jo McKinney, son Cody (Rochelle) McKinney, grandson Carson Bolin, mother Dolores McKinney and brothers Roger, Gary and Doug McKinney. He is preceded in death by his father Willie McKinney and Emma Coomer better known as “Granny”. A Celebration of life will be determined at a later time. Bobby Lee McKinney has joined his fellow Musicians, Family and Friends in Heaven this week. Jo McKinney, Cody and Rochelle McKinney and Carson Bolin are holding down the Fort for him here at home. He was the core to our little family.  Bobby grew up Loving and Playing music. He was a gifted Musician, playing Guitar, Pedal Steel, Fiddle, Bass, Harmonica and was a wonderful Singer. He played for the Elite Admirals Band in the Navy. Bobby and Cody played music together for many years. Anyone who got to see it, knew there was something special about the way they played music together. Everyone calling them the “Bookends”, on and off Stage!!  He was also a Great carpenter! Building many beautiful homes. He went to work for Ada County and started as a Building Inspector and ended up as a Plans Examiner 2 until he retired.  He could make anything out of a piece of wood.  Making many beautiful furniture pieces for Friends and Family. Bobby loved life!! He made countless Friends over the years and managed to keep in touch. If you knew him, your life was much richer! Bobby was the Love of our life! He Loved all and was Loved by all!! Our Hearts are saddened and Broken at this time, but He is looking down on us smiling and giving Hugs!! We Love you Sweetheart!!  Play it Pretty!!
