Obituary of Burt Henry

Burt Henry, age 87 of Hendersonville, passed away Thursday, March 14, 2019.  Funeral Service will be Monday, March 18^th at 2:30 p.m. in the chapel of Family Heritage Funeral Home.  Visitation will be Sunday, March 17^th from 3:00 – 7:00 p.m. and Monday, March 18^th from 12:00 p.m. until time of service at 2:30 p.m. Interment will follow the service at Hendersonville Memory Gardens.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Fisher House, 12300 Twinbrook Pkwy. #410, Rockville, Maryland, 20852, or engage.fisherhouse.org.

Mr. Henry was born May 8, 1931 in Indianapolis, IN to the late Berton Henry, Sr. and Catherine Elizabeth McCardle Henry.  In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by wife, Vernal Henry; grandson, Phillip Henry; brother, Edward Henry; sister, Marie Strietelmeier.  He is survived by daughter, Candi Bullock of Hendersonville, TN; sons, Roger Henry (Inez) of Lorrainger, LA, Keith Henry (Bonnie) of Fairview, TN, and Kevin Henry (Roxanne) of Summerville, SC.  14 grandchildren; 27 great grandchildren; and 1 great-great grandchild.  Mr. Henry was a member of First Baptist Church of Hendersonville and he is very active in the Pre-School Ministry. He was an avid harmonica player and was a member of a band that played numerous gigs at the Gallatin Sr. Citizen Center as well as a contestant on “America’s Got Talent” and in the “Silver Sneakers” competition.    Online condolences may be submitted at familyheritagefh.com.  Family Heritage Funeral Home has been honored with arrangements.
