Obituary of James M. Eidson

On Sunday, May 26, 2019, James M. Eidson of Goodlettsville, loving husband and father, passed away at the age of 73.  James was born on November 6th, 1945 in Nashville to the late M.T. and Grace (Boshers) Eidson.  He was a CPA and recently retired comptroller for Crowley Tool in Hendersonville, TN.  He was a faithful minister of the gospel in the Carthage Upper Cumberland Presbytery, and pastored churches throughout the mid-state.  He was one of the founding ministers of the Sumner County U.C.P. Church and pastored there for over twenty years.  He is survived by his wife of fifty-two years, Brenda Barlow Eidson, as well as his three children: Jami (Johnny) Shumate, Tim (Stephanie) Eidson, and Mary Ellen (Troy) Lawson; and 10 grandchildren.  He is also survived by his four siblings: Betty (Randell) Pence, Jerry (Lavana) Eidson, Peggy (Roger) Byrd, and Donnie (Becky) Eidson.

Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, May 29th at 1 pm from the chapel at Sellars Funeral Home in Hendersonville with the Reverends Charles Jones, Scott Rigsby, and Jackie Riddle officiating. Interment will follow the service at Hendersonville Memory Gardens with Jerry Eidson, Donnie Eidson, Jordan Shumate, Matthew Eidson, Mark Eidson, Luke Lawson, Ed Crowley and Doug Hutchison serving as pallbearers. Visitation with the family will be Tuesday, May 28th from 2-8 pm and Wednesday, May 29th from 11 am until time of service.
