Obituary of Johnny Broussard

Johnny Broussard passed away on May 27, 2019 at age 78.  The family will be receiving friends at Sellars Funeral Home, Lebanon TN, on Wednesday from 4-8 p.m. and on Thursday from 12 p.m. until the service.  The Funeral Service, conducted by Brother Gordon Lee and Brother Danny Sellars, is 2 p.m. Thursday, May 30, 2019 in the chapel of Sellars Funeral Home.  Interment in Cedar Grove Cemetery will follow the service.  Pallbearers:  William Parente, Marcus Nichols, Michael Cousino, Ronnie Burton, David Burns, and Kenny Broussard.

               Johnny was born in Crowley LA.  He retired from the United States Army after having served as a Drill Instructor in Fort McClellan AL, a Parachute Rigger in Fort Lee VA, a Master Rigger/Rigger Instructor, Quality Control over low air drops, Master Sergeant/Jump Master, support command during the Gulf War. He was very proud to have served with 101st Airborne Screaming Eagles.  Sgt. First Class Johnny Broussard received Meritorious Service Medal, Distinguished Commendation Combat Medal, Achievement Medal, 20 year Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal, 2 Purple Heart Combat Medals, Distinguished Service Medal, Oversees Combat Medal. After settling in Lebanon TN with his family, he worked 11 years as a policeman in Lebanon TN, and a rural route carrier for the Post Office for four years.  After his last retirement, he lived for taking his children and grandchildren out to eat, and spending time with his grandchildren, family, and friends.

              He is survived by children: Tammy (Scott) Hamlett, Kenny Broussard, and Penny Pogue Broussard; grandchildren: Danielle Gibson, Brittani (Marcus Nichols) Broussard, and David (Emily) Burns; great-grandchildren: Miracle Brown, Destiny Brown, Angel Gibson, Grace Gibson, Londyn Nichols, Caine Nichols, and Gabriella Burns; special niece: Treasa Bane; and great-niece: Sam Bane.  He is preceded in death by wife of 46 years, Sue Broussard, parents Lacasta and Florence Broussard, brother Kirk Broussard, and grandson-in-law Tony Gibson.  Sellars Funeral Home, Lebanon TN, 615.444.9393.
