Obituary of Stephen R. Weakley

Stephen R. Weakley, age 76 of Gallatin, passed away Wednesday, November 6, 2019.  Funeral Mass will be Monday, November 11th at 2:00 p.m. at St. John Vianney Catholic Church.  Visitation will be Sunday, November 10th from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. at Family Heritage Funeral Home.  Interment will follow the service Monday, November 11th at Crestview Memory Gardens, with Military Honors.  Honoring him as pallbearers are Austin Sissel, Michael Sissel, Alec Arnold, Don Rusbult, Phil Douglas, and Bob Mackie.   In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. John Vianney Catholic Church, 449 North Water Ave., Gallatin, TN  37066, or Friends of the Gallatin Public Library, 123 East Main Street, Gallatin, TN 37066, or First Presbyterian Church, 167 West Main Street, Gallatin, TN  37066.

Mr. Weakley was born August 14, 1943 in Springfield, TN to the late Harry R. Weakley and Kathleen Wettstein Weakley.  He is survived by wife of 15 years, Sandra Jones Weakley; daughters, Jennifer Bailey of Mt. Pleasant, SC and Beth Ann Sissel (Michael) of Simpsonville, SC; step-daughters, Natalie Vantrease (Matthew) of Nashville and Jamie Gomez (Horacio) of Little Rock, AR; brothers, David Weakley of Stewart, TN and Sam Weakley (Pamela) of Memphis, TN; sisters, Patricia Jenkins of Knoxville, TN and Mary Beth Brellenthin (Jack) of Hixon, TN; brother-in-law, Sam Jones (Jo Beth) of Calvert City, KY; 5 grandchildren, Austin Sissel, Spencer Sissel, Harrison Sissel, Chandler Arnold, and Riley Bailey; 1 great grandchild, Emerson Kate Arnold; 3 step-grandchildren, Eli Gomez, Mia Gomez, and Zoe Johnson; and the mother of his children, Linda McCloud Weakley of South Carolina.  Mr. Weakley proudly served our country as a First Lieutenant in the United States Army, serving in the Vietnam War.  He graduated from St. John Vianney Catholic Church School, Gallatin High School in 1961, and Tennessee Technical University in 1971.  Mr. Weakley was a Quality Engineer for over 34 years.  Online condolences may be submitted at familyheritagefh.com.  Family Heritage Funeral Home has been honored with arrangements.
