Obituary of Elder Kenneth Paul Hackett

Elder Kenneth Paul Hackett, age 84 of Gallatin, passed away Friday, November 22, 2019.  Celebration of Life Service will be Monday, November 25th at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Family Heritage Funeral Home, with Elder Joshua Paul Gregory officiating.  Visitation will be Sunday, November 24th from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. and Monday, November 25th from 12:00 p.m. until time of service at 2:00 p.m.  Interment will follow the service at Rock Bridge Cemetery, with Robert Bradley, John Conyer, Adam Crews, Joshua Gregory, Daniel Gregory, and Jonathan Dunn serving as pallbearers. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the funeral home to assist the family with expenses.

Elder Hackett was born July 1, 1935 in Detroit, Michigan to the late Thomas Claire Hackett and Ella Mae Watson Hackett.  In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by son-in-law, Russell Dunn.  He is survived by wife of 65 years, Linda McDonald Hackett of Gallatin; daughters, Lynda Faith Hall (John) of Gallatin, Connie Dunn of DeFuniak Springs, FL, and Laura Gregory of Gallatin; sister, Carol Jean Carver of Hendersonville; 7 grandchildren, Kristina Conyer (John), Elder Joshua Gregory (Merritt), Angela Crews (Adam), Jessica Bradley (Elder Robert Bradley), Daniel Gregory, Carissa Dunn, and Jonathan Dunn; and 9 great grandchildren, Landon Conyer, Finnley Conyer, Titus Conyer, Aiden Crews, Luke Crews, Jacob Crews, Abby Bradley, Ellie Bradley, and William Bradley.  Elder Hackett was a Tool and Die Maker, businessman, and inventor with international patents.  His first career was a tool and die company that he owned and operated with his father, Hackett Precision.  He was called in to the ministry, where he served the Lord for over 30 years as a Missionary Baptist Church Pastor, as well as a Missionary in California, Russia, and other locations.  He often said, “ I am a terrible sinner, but Christ is a wonderful Savior”.  Online condolences may be submitted at familyheritagefh.com.  Family Heritage Funeral Home has been honored with arrangements.
