Obituary of Lillian Pryor Carter

Lillian Pryor Carter, age 100 of Gallatin, passed away Tuesday, February 25, 2020. Funeral Service will be Friday, February 28th at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Family Heritage Funeral Home. Visitation will be Thursday, February 27th from 2:00 – 8:00 p.m. and Friday, February 28th from 12:00 p.m. until time of service at 2:00 p.m. Interment will follow at Crestview Memory Gardens, with John Carter Jr., Donald Carter Jr., Jason Carter, Justin Cline, Brandon Carter, Billy Seaton, Jeffrey Seaton, and Lester Malanowski serving as pallbearers. Mrs. Carter was born January 22, 1920 in Gallatin to the late General Edward Pryor and Annie Mae Adcock Pryor. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by husband, James William Carter; son, Raymond Carter; and brothers, Howard Reese Pryor and Harold Pryor. She is survived by sons, John William Carter (Gloria) of Leesburg, FL, James Edward “Eddie” Carter of Gallatin, and Donald Reese Carter (Carol) of Gallatin; daughter, Mildred Dee Carter of Gallatin; brothers, Willie Pryor (Ossie Mae) of Indiana and Eugene Pryor of Portland; sisters, Mary Holland of Arizona and Katherine Witcher of Indiana; 13 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren; and 16 great-great grandchildren. She has worked at Gary Shirt Factory, R.C. Owens, Gallatin High School Cafeteria, and Gallatin Health Care. Online condolences may be submitted at familyheritagefh.com.
