Obituary of Willie Mai Hammock Scruggs

Ms. Willie Mai Hammock Scruggs, age 92, of Lafayette, passed away Wednesday, September 2, 2020, at White House Assisted Living. Graveside services for Ms. Willie Mai Scruggs are scheduled to be conducted on Friday, September 4, 2020, at 11 AM from the Eulia Cemetery with Reverend Billy Freeman, Jr. and Reverend Todd O’Hair officiating. Interment will follow. If there is anyone who wants to be part of Ms. Willie Mai’s service, the family requests that you join in the funeral procession to the cemetery leaving Alexander Funeral Home on Friday morning at 10:30 AM. They also request out of extreme love and health protection, that anyone in attendance please wear a mask. Family respectfully request donations be made to the Eulia General Baptist Church for Stained Glass Windows. Ms. Willie Mai Scruggs was preceded in death by her husband, George Hilton Scruggs, parents, James Thomas and Virgie Spears Hammock; son, Freddy Scruggs; great-grandson, Kyle Fisher; and sisters, Thelma Farley, Avelene Sloan, and Dorothy Sloan Ms. Willie Mai Scruggs is survived by; Son, Mike Scruggs and wife, Nancy Daughter-in-law, Sue Neal Scruggs Grandchildren, Angela Ballou and husband, Paul Fredia Fisher and husband, Danny Christy Scruggs Jeffery Scruggs Great-Grandchildren, Ben Ballou and wife, Anna Katie Reid and husband, Lance Kayci Rosenthal and husband, Jeremy Micky Donnell Sister, Mary Jo Gregory and husband, Frank Jr. She is also survived by Five Great-Great-Grandchildren and one more on the way.
