It is with a heavy heart and weeping eyes that I extend my deepest condolences to Brian’s family. Brian, or Brolier as I knew him, had an infectious personality, and I will forever cherish the memories of playing online video games with him, chatting about life, the universe and everything, and always smiling. Brian had a pure soul so it was always so easy to be in good spirits when in his company.
Most of us in the Black Fire Gaming community have never actually met in real life; nonetheless, time has resulted in us becoming a very close and loving family. There is no word strong enough to communicate the pain felt from this loss.
To Brian’s family, I offer you my most sincere sympathy. Hold tough, he would not want you to lament.
Brolier, I will look upon your memories fondly and I will continue to smile, but your departure from this world won’t allow that smile to reach my eyes, which will remain bereft of light. We will miss you dearly. Rest peacefully in Valhalla, my Brother, until we meet again.
-Kanaya (Jen) Neville
I will truly miss Brian, he had an awesome sense of humor and was a person I looked forward to talking to. I am reminded of a quote/ proverb I heard when I lived in the Basque country "With a good friend the hours are short." You will be missed, my friend.
I met Brian about 7 years ago online in a free to play game called APB: Reloaded. I invited him to join our community and he fit right in with everyone which wasn't surprising given his humor and good nature. Brian was one of the most kind hearted person I've ever met, and he always had good intentions. He saw good in people without knowing them and I even questioned him a few times on how he can trust people so quickly because I myself have issues doing that. We played a lot of games together within our community but although our gaming community was built upon playing video games, we have always been a family of friends and a lot of the time we find ourselves in all sorts of other conversations nothing to do with gaming whether it be news, politics, each others daily life, ups and downs, or just jokes and memes (we have all shared on countless times great laughter with him). On most days before I clocked in for work, I would be in our voice chat and Brian would be there to greet me with others or even sometimes by himself while waiting for others to join, before he drove the van for the kids. I work late shifts and get off of work midnight EST and sometimes I would be in voice chat all alone because everyone else was asleep, and Brian was the type of person who would join voice chat just to say hi and have a good night and then he would go to bed, something that does not seem like a big deal, but shows the kind of caring heart he had to take a moment of time out of his night to wish me a good night. Sometimes I would hear him join the chat channel and and before he spoke I would joke around and say "Hey, how's it going, and have a good night" because it happened often enough where I knew he was just stopping by for that, in which he would respond to me in his unique sound of laughter. I procrastinated on writing here because I knew that when I did, it would make it real and I was hoping that I would wake up from this nightmare. Brian has touched so many souls in my community and we are all truly heartbroken over this loss. I feel that we were all so lucky to have met him and shared so many great times, conversations, and laughs with him. Brian was and will always be a huge part of the heart and soul of our community Black Fire Gaming and all of us will miss him dearly. He will forever be immortalized in our community because our family is now down one amazing person that can never be replaced.
Please accept my condolences on behalf of our whole community at BFG, as the world now seems like such a darker place without Brian Tauber AKA Brolier/Codex Halcyon
With much love,
Gary Giordonella (Spike)
I knew Brian as Brolier, been playing video games with that man for the last six years and when he moved to Tennessee, where my wife's family is from I would hang out with him when ever I was in town visiting the in-laws. Brian was a great dude, very chill and super relaxed to hang out with and was always filled with laughs during our crazy conversations. Blackfire Gaming will always ride together in this life and in the next. Till we meet again Brolier.
