Obituary of Janet Gereau Graves

Janet Gereau Graves, age 73 of Hendersonville, passed away Sunday, November 29, 2020. There will be a Private Graveside Service at Sumner Memorial Gardens Mausoleum, with Pastor Joshua Strader and Pastor Don Hutchinson officiating. Honoring her as pallbearers are David Slate, Jody Galbreath, Adam Easterling, Taylor Galbreath, Cody Farley, Zach Burns, Jonny Lee, and Chris Szalaj. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Humane Society of Sumner County, 16 Volunteer Drive, Hendersonville, TN 37075. Mrs. Graves was born July 20, 1947 to the late Arthur Williams and Alma Gereau Williams. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by brother, Paul Williams; and sister, Judith Economou. She is survived by husband of 13 years, James Graves of Hendersonville; children, Jenny Slate Lee (Jonny) of Hendersonville and David Slate of Hendersonville; step-children, Stacey Slate-Hall (Jamie) of Hendersonville, Stephen Slate (Shannon) of Hendersonville, Stephanie Galbreath (Jody) of Goodlettsville, Sarah Scruggs (Johnnie) of Westmoreland, Hannah Farley (Cody) of Lafayette, and James Graves of Hendersonville; she loved her 2 grandchildren, Gracie Lee and Tristan Lee and 17 step-grandchildren and 2 step-great grandchildren. Mrs. Graves was a part of building a successful music publishing, and management company, API. She loved her family, her puppy, Sophie Koko, and loved life.
