I am so sorry for your loss. Austin was an absolute joy to have in class. Everyone knows he was brilliant and immensely talented, but I want to make sure everyone who reads this knows how kind, how caring, and how selfless he was. God blessed us with Austin. He will be so missed.

We are so very sorry for the inconceivable loss of your sweet boy. Such a beautiful spirit and light that will carry on through all of those he touched. My heart aches for you, Scott and your boys.

A wonderful memory of Austin that we will hold close is when our Abby Rose was born 3 months early. You spoke of Austin being so inquisitive and concerned about how she and I were doing. Our story inspired Austin (I think he was about 10 or 11 years old) to draw a portrait of me holding my tiny sweet girl. He also wrote a beautiful poem to accompany it. Dave and I were touch so deeply. We’ve held it dear for the last 13 years. Our family has been touched by Austin’s light... it will always shine brightly. All of our prayers are with you.

Austin was a fine young man and a BIG part of our XC/Track success during his high school years. He embodied my idea of the true "student/athlete" -- a great and respected teammate, he earned 4 varsity letters in Cross Country and 3 in Track and Field. He graduated in the "Top 10%" of the 2014 class and his Cross Country PR ranks him 14th on our all time performance list. He ran on two Region Championship teams and ran in the State Meet three times. He worked hard and competed for his team. He was an outstanding artist and I had recently learned from his grandmother that he was doing well in his chosen field/profession.

Austin ran a "great race" . . . it just ended way too soon. It was indeed a pleasure to be his teacher and coach!
